Panoramic
For this image, I stayed in the same spot but periodically moved the horizontally and took 5 pictures. I then compiled them in Photoshop into one image.

Layering Assignment
For this image, I compiled pictures I have taken in past assignments to create an extremely layered piece. I tried to use subjects that weren't directly related, but had some sort of connection. I used the dog because he was sitting on the rocks that are in the picture. I selected the pictures of the flowers and duplicated it to add some color to the image. I layered a picture of a vast landscape under a picture of trees in a forest under a picture of one individual tree with it's branches (on the sides). For the main subject I used a dramatic silhouette of my brother to create a focal point. To top it off, I added in a picture of my sister's eyes to add more interest into the very back layer. Finally I added a vignette to bring all of the assorted images together.

Color Challenge Collage
This collage is made out of images I took for our "Color Challenge" assignment. I chose orange because fall is here and I wanted to show it! There were many beautiful orange hues in the forest behind my house, so I had a lot to choose from. I ended up focusing in on a collection of orange flowers, and many many leaves. :)
Rotunda With Words
I created this image for a T-shirt to represent a conference at the University of Virginia. I used many words like "Cooperation" and " Economy" to create the full effect of not having any background. It took quite awhile, but the end product was worth it!

Letters in Nature
For this project, we had to go out into our yard or home and look for shapes in nature that looked like a letter. These shapes were to spell something that pertains to us, so I did my last name. The letters were a lot harder to find then you might think, especially a lower case "a"!

Miranda Photoshoot
These are a couple photos that I took of my sister, Miranda. She won an award for piano and needed pictures of her playing, so this is what I came up with. The lights on the stage were extremely bright, so her face is very bright in a lot of the pictures. I played with black and white contrast a lot here as well.
Dear Photograph
For this assignment, we had to choose an image from the past and place it in the same environment that the subject is in. I decided to use a picture from about 8 years ago of me playing with a hose in our backyard. I have many great memories of playing with my sister and brother in the woods behind our house, so it was a good photo for me to reflect on. It's really strange to see how much our forest has changed since then!

Song Lyrics
For this assignment, we had to pick one of our favorite songs and make a collage representing it. I chose to do Blackbird by the Beatles, because I think the song is really beautiful with simple lyrics. It's been one of my favorite songs for awhile, so I had to do it! The song gives me a classic, old vibe, so I went with crumpled paper for the background. I also went with black details because of the subject- Blackbirds.

Water Head
This project was a fun, off to the side project that I really enjoyed. Last year, I created an image similar to this one, except Ben's head was covered in smoke rather than water. For this picture, I took a picture of Ben's profile. I then inverted it and duplicated the layers to create a translucent look. I then warped pictures of water in his outline. After I cleaned up the edges with the Eraser, I added droplets of water to make it look real. Favorite project so far!!

Silhouette Collage
This image is culminated from a picture of my brother standing in front of a large panel of windows. In order to make it a personal collage, I decided to replace each window's background with an image of a place that Ben and I have been to together (the Maid of the Mist, Sunday River, the CN Tower, our favorite show, How I Met Your Mother, Crystal Beach, and the London Eye). Though the project looks simple enough, it was actually pretty difficult to layer mask the lines in the window. I had to make sure all of the lines were even and not looking ragged. All in all, a very fun project!

Find Your Niche
This week's assignment was to create something that really showed your style in photoshop. I decided to do a collage because they are really fun to create. I also decided to pick a vintage look to it because I think that look can really create a cool tone over your entire image. I used ornate brushes to create the border, and "Marie Antoinette"type of women for the center. I added the chandelier because I think its adds to the vintage vibe.

What I'm Thankful For
This picture is of my dog, Tucker. I am thankful for him, and he's definitely part of the family! To make this image, I desaturated it completely, and blurred out the background to make Tucker stand out more. I then added two borders around it, a black one and a faint garnet colored one. I then added the text to go with the theme.
